SS 409 Plate

The supplied SS 409 Plate is part of the austenitic family of stainless steel and they are one of the most versatile and widely used varieties of stainless Plate. These 409 Plates are a relatively low cost stainless product and used in a variety of applications. The 409 is a general purpose, chromium, titanium stabilized, ferritic stainless steel whose primary application is automotive exhaust systems. It contains 11% chromium which is the minimum amount for the formation of the passive surface film which gives stainless steels their corrosion resistance.
